School's Managing Attendance Policy and Procedure Queries & Responses
If we have staff already at stage 1 on our policy, does this transfer across, or do we have to relook at each member of staff's absence over the last 12 months when this policy takes effect, effectively starting again?
You will not need to start again, anyone in a process before the 5th July will continue on the existing policy. The new policy is effective from 5th July and any new sickness cases will be considered within this procedure. The policy transtion aim is to phase out the old policy and apply the updated policy in all new cases.
Is this for non-teaching NJC staff only?
The policy is for all school-based employees- 3.0 in the the policy has now been updated as follows: This policy applies to all school-based employees on permanent, temporary and fixed-term contracts. This policy applies to all directly employed school staff excluding those within their probationary period, and ‘as and when’ workers. It does not apply to agency workers, interims, or consultants.
